Desperate to elude her pursuers, Sab-ra took another route. She lost the trail and was forced to take refuge with the Kosi, ancient enemies of her People. To her dismay, she found herself incredibly attracted to the Warrior King. Knowing her peaceful culture would never take up arms in defense of the Skygrass Valley, Sab-ra begged the Elders to hire the mercenary Kosi Warriors to repel the Harn. She hoped having the Kosi defend the People’s sacred space might lead to peace between the two cultures. The Elders declared that hiring the Kosi required the approval of King Ruisenor, Monarch of the Twelve Valleys. Before leaving to consult King Ruisenor, Sab-ra learned that she had been born a twin. Her mother left the city after her birth, taking the stronger twin and leaving Sab-ra behind. King Ruisenor approved Sab-ra’s plan to hire the Kosi to defend the Skygrass valley. The clans worked together to draft a treaty. When the Army attacked Skygrass, the Kosi were victorious, but Captain Grieg discovered a way into the secret valley and took Sab-ra prisoner. Battling him almost to the death, she managed to escape. Despite all her efforts to kill Grieg, he survived. Sab-ra married the Kosi King the night before the mountain exploded in an avalanche. Say’f compelled one of his guards, Lord Rohr, to take Sab-ra to King Ruisenor. His warrior’s creed compelled him to stay behind to kill Captain Grieg. Sab-ra journeyed across the vast mountain range in winter with Rohr, finally reaching the King’s valley where she prayed she would find her Kosi husband. But in her doomed attempt to save the Skygrass valley, Sab-ra had interfered with fate. Her King was missing and presumed dead. She would face pregnancy and motherhood alone.
